Rootstock provides a complete design and landscaping service – from concept through to planting.

No two gardens are the same. Your space may be overgrown and out of control or simply in need of a rethink here and there. Either way, we can help.
Complete solutions
We often inherit someone else’s garden and sometimes it’s best to start again with a design that works for you, particularly when a garden has become overgrown and out of control. The process involves:
Consultation – where you, the client, share your ambition for the garden. As the designer, I will listen and apply my expertise to advise on what’s possible in a given location. I’d like to know how you want to use the space and what kind of plants, style and colours you love.
Design – the production of drawings, plans, images to help you imagine what your garden could look like.
Approval – when everyone’s happy with the design and costs, we can move on to actually getting our hands dirty.
Clearance – there may be perennial weeds to consider or a mature tree that should stay. Any nasty problems lurking in the undergrowth will be dealt with and nothing is removed without consultation.
Hard landscaping – this is paving, fencing, any construction work that is required, such as summerhouses, ponds and pergolas. A reliable core team with specialists brought in for additional features, such as lighting.
Planting – the exciting bit where I choose the plants that suit your location, soil type and character.
Small solutions
Sometimes it’s just part of a garden that needs a rethink. Maybe a border where the shrubs have grown too big, or a tired lawn that’s become a mossy mess. Small alterations can make a big difference and we are happy to look at challenging problem areas.
