Echinops ritro ‘Veitch’s Blue’
The bluest of the globe thistles, shorter in height than the regular types.
Sisyrinchium striatum
This plant thrives in my south facing, dry spot and adds an upright shape to the mid summer border.
Primula pulverulenta (Mealy primrose)
Wine-red flowers on tall, slender stems that have a mealy-white coating.
Akebia quinata (Chocolate vine)
Although it has a vigorous nature, its luxurious, spicy scent emanates from the maroon-purple flowers from March to May.
