I came back from a visit to the nursery at Great Dixter with several new plants and discovered that an additional plant had made its way into a pot.
Plant of the month
Each month I choose one of my favourite plants relevant for the season. So many to choose from, so little time...
Chaenomeles x superba ‘Crimson and Gold’
I often decide upon my plant of the month after a moment of inspiration walking round a garden.
Helleborus argutifolius (corsicus)
I can’t resist their unique flowers – sometimes the oldies are the best!
Griselinia littoralis
A little evergreen tree from New Zealand, noted for its ability to tolerate salty winds
Cornus alba Sibirica, Siberian or Westonbirt Dogwood
This red-stemmed dogwood brightens up the dreariest of winter days
