A plant that is so full of spring zest that it makes you feel energised just looking at it. Well, I do anyway! 

It forms a neat mound of glistening chrome yellow in spring, approximately 50cm high and wide. The flowers are actually modified leaves called bracts and the colour calms down as summer moves on. The foliage then takes on reddish tints in the autumn. Easy and hardy for any soil in a sunny location. 

As with all euphorbias, it is best to plant this away from the edge of paths, seating or children’s play areas as the sap can cause skin irritation.
