July Plant of the Month
As the name implies, the flowers of a Day-lily may only last a day, but they do keep coming. As one bloom fades, another plump bud bursts open to reveal an elegant, creamy-white ruffled flower in the case of ‘Joan Senior’. There is also a hint of lime green to the flower and a light scent.
Hemerocallis are clump forming perennial plants. Fully hardy and easy in sun or part shade. 60cm height and spread. Flowers over a long period – June to August in my garden.
