This evergreen fern’s long sword-like fronds make a lovely shape as they curve gracefully outwards from the central crown.
Plant of the month
Each month I choose one of my favourite plants relevant for the season. So many to choose from, so little time...
Ginkgo biloba (Maidenhair tree)
Ginkgo have distinctive, fan-shaped leaves and are known to have grown at least 200 million years ago.
Parahebe catarractae ‘Porlock’
Flowering since I planted it in May, this little evergreen is a joy and will still be blooming in early November.
Dahlia ‘Labyrinth’
‘Labyrinth’ has stood up well to everything that’s been flung at it and has given me joy when I bring the blooms home.
Crocosmia ‘Norwich Canary’
Crocosmia add good late colour to borders in shades of orange, yellow and red.
